The 2014 U.S. Beer Open Championship winners have been released and 5 Florida Breweries took home awards! Cigar City Brewing, Motorworks Brewing, Big Top Brewery, Florida Beer Company & Green Bench Brewing all served up some award winning beers! Congrats!

It has been years in the making but Florida finally will allow the sale of 64oz growlers. Govern Scott signed the bill a few days ago and it will take effect soon. This is a major win for craft beer in Florida!
When one brewery closes (sadly), another opens! Ancient City Brewing Company just received a special-use permit to operate in the same location as the former Mile Marker Brewery. The Brewery is expecting their Brewery license in June from the Federal Government.
There are several bars located in Downtown Melbourne but no breweries. Don DiFrisco wants to change that by opening Hell 'N Blazes Brewery. He has already received preliminary approval from the Melbourne City Council. Once Don receives his final approval on May 12, he plans to finalize the purchase of property and begin construction. If all goes as planned, Don is aiming for an October opening of Hell 'N Blazes Brewery.
